Hello Yvonne! Thank you for squeezing this interview in today! Alright, I know that you’re from West Virginia. Did you go to nursing school here?
Yes, I’m from the southern portion of West Virginia and I received my Master’s in Nursing and Master’s in Business from Waynesburg college in Pennsylvania and finished my Nurse Practitioner degree at West Virginia University.
Your degree allows you to work in a myriad of settings, such as hospitals and clinics, so what was it about Tuscan Sun that brought your career here?
I began a part time position in 2016 and became full time in 2021. Here at Tuscan Sun, I see different clients every day, many with low self-esteem. It is very rewarding to see a client increase that self-esteem through weight loss and/or medical cosmetics. Some clients come in so depressed, either wanting to lose weight, get rid of wrinkles, or tighten sagging skin; to work with them and help them improve their appearance, therefore boosting their self-esteem, is most rewarding.
You mentioned weight loss and medical cosmetics. What all do you specialize in?
I specialize in medical cosmetics (Botox, filler, etc.), weight loss, MiraDry, ThermiVa, PDO threading, and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy.
We all know work is important, but so is taking time out for yourself. What do you like to do outside of the med spa?
I like to go boating or camping. Being a lizard on the beach. Spending time with my family, mostly. I would like to go on a riverboat trip along the Atlantic or Pacific. I haven’t visited all the states yet and I just want to see more of what this beautiful country has to offer.
You bring up a good point. I normally ask where around the world you would like to travel, yet there is so much to see right here in the US. That being said, if you won the lottery tomorrow, would you spend it on travel?
I know this sounds weird, but I would probably invest in Tuscan Sun! I would talk to Cheri and try to see if she’d like to team up!
Well, that would certainly be a wise investment! So, we know you’re smart. What is something we don’t know about you?
Probably that I have a Doctor’s degree in Natural Medicine.
That’s quite interesting. So would that entail remedies, herbs, things of that nature?
Yes.
I can appreciate that. The world of medicine is all encompassing and I like that you are open to all possibilities. Tell us a bit more about yourself. Give me three words to describe Yvonne.
I’m dependable. (I feel like.) I’m a kind person. I am motherly and nurturing.
What would you like to be remembered for?
I would like to be remembered for how I added to the value of Tuscan Sun and its legacy.

Hi Lexi! Thanks for agreeing to sit down for an interview. We’ll start off easy. Where are you from and where did you go to school?
I’m from Clarksburg, West Virginia and I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Nursing from West Virginia Wesleyan. I have completed the Aesthetic Medical Educators Training in Botox and Dermal Filler and I’m certified nationally for PDO threading.
Did you always dream of becoming a nurse?
I knew I wanted to be in the medical field, so either a doctor or a nurse or a veterinarian — as long as I was helping people or animals.
That’s very admirable. I wanted to be a veterinarian until my growing fear of large dogs set in. Okay, moving on! I know you have prior experience working in a cardiac unit, so what made you choose to have a career with Tuscan Sun?
I began at Tuscan Sun in 2014 and worked the front desk for four years. I was comfortable here and I loved the family environment, so when I graduated, I knew that I could stay here and work in a different capacity. I’m able to help patients, this time in aesthetic medicine.
Aesthetics interest me more than any other field. It’s art and science mixed together. Tuscan Sun opened me up to the field of aesthetic medicine and had I not already been here, I may not have been as interested in this field of nursing.
It sounds like you were in the right place at the right time. So out of everything we offer here, what procedure(s) are you most enthusiastic about for our clients?
Fillers, Botox, basically anything esthetic. PDO threads might be my favorite. It’s basically a less dramatic, mini face lift for those who aren’t interested in surgery.
Face lift without the surgery? I’m in! I can only imagine the difference it makes in a client’s self-esteem. That must be so rewarding.
It is. I get to know my patients and build the relationships over time as they become regular clients. To see all the positive changes that they experience, and to be with them through it–that is the most rewarding.
Other than PDO Threading, what do you like to do for fun?
I like to go to the gym and take classes. I always attend the Body Pump class with Kristen (Cooley – one of Tuscan Sun’s Medspa Consultants). I always go to her class. She has so much energy! I also like to hang out with my two dogs Samson and Fauna, my two cats Puss and Boots and, of course, my friends. I also listen to true crime podcasts such as Crime Junkie and True Crime All The Time.
You’ve got to love those podcast names. How would your friends describe you?
They’d say I’m loyal…and spontaneous. I’m down for whatever!
Spontaneity is a good thing! If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you choose to go?
Greece.
Yes! Santorini is on my bucket list. Maybe I’ll see you over there!

I’m going to be working at our new Canonsburg, PA location, which is opening soon! I’m very excited for the move and to see what comes next!
